Carlee Rivera-Sims (she/her)
My name is Carlee Rivera-Sims and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Infant Care Specialist. I have always considered myself an advocate for women especially concerning reproductive health and well-being. I obtained my degree in Women’s Studies, with a minor in Sociology from San Diego State University. I completed my lactation education credentialing through the UCSD Extension program. In addition, I worked at a local hospital on the mother/baby postpartum unit while obtaining my clinical hours needed for the IBCLE board exam. In recent years, I have completed a wide variety of ongoing provider education and advancement in caring for the breastfeeding/chestfeeding dyad including but most certainly not limited to: Oral Rehabilitation for Tongue Tie, Rhythmic Movement Training & Infant Reflexes.
I am very passionate about all things moms and babies, but education about breastfeeding/chestfeeding is my love. After the transformative birth of my daughter, I knew I wanted to pursue a career as a lactation consultant. I was fortunate enough to have my tribe of women to help me not only transition into motherhood but also through my breastfeeding journey with my daughter. I hope to create that village of support, education, and assistance through my work at Mamas & Milk.
I live in Escondido with my lovely and adoring husband and our beautiful daughter. When I am not teaching about breastfeeding/chestfeeding or reading up on the latest breastfeeding news, you can find me enjoying a nice glass of wine, hanging out with my family, trying out a new restaurant, taking a yoga class, doing arts and crafts with my daughter, or watching FRIENDS.
I look forward to meeting you and your growing family!
